Show Cancellation
It is with the deepest regret that Spangles announces the cancellation of their concerts with The Jersey Boys, Showaddywaddy and Freddie Mercury on Thursday, 30 September and Friday, 1 October 2010. “We’re absolutely devastated!” says Musical Director, Gail Grainger. “We have all worked so hard for this show and tickets have been completely sold out. We have been badly let down by what we thought was a professional group”.
Spangles had been warned by several people that The Jersey Boys had disbanded and that some had returned to the UK. Keen not to disappoint their huge fan base, Spangles co-Chorus Managers, Lyn and Anthea, decided to track down some of the members and determine whether there was any truth in what they had heard. “Sadly, we have established that three of the members of the group are, indeed, in the UK and will not be returning to Spain. It seems that they have let down businesses in Torrevieja and one of their own members. We are shocked that a professional group can act in this way.” says Lyn.
Spangles will be reimbursing all money paid for tickets, so please get in touch with the person who sold you the ticket or call Anthea on 968 334 527 or Lyn on 968 432 525 and they will arrange to return your money. Or you can email us: Email
The concert was organised to raise money for much-needed new risers and costumes for Spangles, because the chorus has grown so quickly. Spangles may be down, but they’re definitely not out and will be back later in the year with their ‘Christmas with Spangles’ concert. They will also be taking part in the biggest barbershop gathering in Spain in April 2011 in Murcia, so keep checking the press for details.
