Thanksgiving 2021

As you probably know, Valerie, our MD, hails from New York. She hasn’t been back to see her family and friends in three years, although she stays in touch with everyone via video links, but it’s not quite the same, especially when it comes to Thanksgiving.

Many of us had never been to a Thanksgiving dinner, so Valerie planned one for November 2020, only to be thwarted by more restrictions when another Covid wave swept through Spain. So, this year, she was determined to make it happen and it was planned with meticulous precision, right down to her Grandmother’s cranberry sauce recipe, ably assisted by the wonderful staff at Peaky Blinders Bar in Los Urrutias.

Valerie thought that she had organised everything with precision: great decorations, fabulous food, friends, chat and music. BUT, we had one sneaky surprise up our sleeves: everyone stood up after dinner and sang Stars & Stripes, which totally floored her. It was a fabulous evening, full of fun, laughter and love, so we’re pretty sure her first Spanish Thanksgiving was just what the doctor ordered. Thanks to everyone who came and to Anita, Russ and the staff of Peaky Blinders for making it so special.
